Health Impact Assessment (HIA)
HIA provides a comprehensive and in-depth risk assessment of how your project, policy or program might impact health. A full HIA is a time-intensive study that includes a large component of community consultation. HIA is suitable for large, complex and high profile projects that affect health in numerous ways. Rapid HIA
A rapid HIA also evaluates the potential health impact of your project but in a less intensive manner, relying on existing data and limited community consultation. A rapid HIA is appropriate for less complex projects, when there is limited time or resources, or for an organization’s internal use.
Project health recommendations
We submit to you a generalized set of recommendations for considering health in your project. The recommendations are generated from the project parameters, and draw on existing research evidence on health determinants. This approach is most suitable for projects where there is a small population that will be affected, or limited ways in which population health will be impacted.
Community health assessment
Would you like a “snapshot” of your community’s health? Of great practical value to governments, NGOs and community groups, community health assessment provides an evidence-based report on the health of your community. The assessment can rely solely on existing data sources, or can include primary data gathering through surveys and/or focus groups.
Health study design
We can design and carry out epidemiologic studies of health outcomes and risk factors in small or large populations.

We can conduct half-hour to full-day presentations and workshops customized to meet your interests on:

Literature reviews
Do you need to know where the weight of evidence is on a particular question? We can review and summarize the scientific literature and present it in a way that can be easily understood. For example:

- Does traffic calming reduce pedestrian injury?
- What is the relationship between urban sprawl and obesity?
